You might be new to counselling or have had experience in the past, either way it can be a good to know a little more about what to expect. This can help you to plan and reduce any fears and anxiety about what will happen in our sessions.  

Our counselling session will begin with an initial appointment face to face  or over the telephone. Here we will get the chance to meet and discuss what has brought you to counselling, explore any questions, hopes and fears. It's also a great opportunity to see if we'd work well together,  for me its an important part of the process, laying the foundation for our working relationship.   

If we are both happy to continue to work together, we will get going as soon as possible,  deciding on a time, day and location that's suits. We'll discuss if short or longer term counselling feels right for you. Typically short-term counselling can be between 6 and 12 sessions, whereas longer term is more open ended. In both cases we will regularly review our sessions, so you still feel its the best option for you. I'm able to be flexible and fully understand that you might not know what you need at the start, we can work together to explore this.

There is a counselling contract that we will go through in our first assessment session explaining more about confidentially, appointments and how I work.


Professional Fees

FREE - Telephone consultation.

£25.00 for an initial assessment session

£50.00 after 5pm

£45.00 before 5pm

£35.00 Concessionary rate for students (limited availability).


Discounts available for block bookings of full price sessions, please ask about these.
